      This year's Deighton Cup at Hastings Racecourse brought out all the usual splendour.

      The event harkens back to the days of Empire, when Brittania ruled the waves and even the colonies were havens of horseracing madness.

      Fedoras and fascinators weren't only worn at Aintree and Ascot in England; they were also a common sight in Hong Kong, old Bombay, Colombo, and Sydney.
