Who's going to fight Brian McGrattan?

That's a question on the minds of some Canucks fans after general manager Jim Benning put enforcer Tom Sestito on waivers.

If no other team grabs Sestito, he'll go down to the farm to play with the Utica Comets.

A year ago, Sestito and McGrattan squared off in the main event of a line brawl between the Canucks and Flames.

That led to former head coach John Tortorella's crazy decision to try to charge into the Flames' dressing room during the first intermission. This resulted in a six-game suspension and the beginning of the end of Tortorella's tenure in Vancouver.

McGrattan is 6'4" and 235 pounds.

Sestito is 6'5" and 228 pounds. The next biggest Canuck is centre Shawn Matthias at 6'4" and 223 pounds.

But with only 129 career penalty minutes in the NHL, Matthias is more of a playmaker than a pugilist. Consider that Sestito spent 213 minutes in the sin bin last season alone.

Of course, Zack Kassian is waiting in the wings at 6'3" and 214 pounds. And he likes to fight.

For the moment, the Canucks' reigning tough guy is Derek Dorsett, who's a mere 6'0" and 192 pounds. Next in line is Kevin Bieksa. Both have huge hearts, but that might not cut it against the likes of McGrattan or some of the NHL's other more fearsome goons.

Another unmemorable Canucks - good riddance - how about getting a tough guy who can score 20 goals - loads of guys did it in years gone by. Tiger Williams potted 35 one year and got 300+ penalty minutes - hard to do in this day and age of the NHL - but 20 goals possible, for sure - Kassian for one.
