      The Straight gets to know some of the artists participating in this year’s upcoming Eastside Culture Crawl.

      Who are you? Denna Erickson, artist in painting, mixed media and encaustic. I have been teaching art for 23 years, and also own The ArtWay Studios (649 E 15th Avenue) where we teach a number of mixed-media and painting courses to adults.

      Where is your studio? 208-1000 Parker Street.

      How many years have you participated in the East Side Culture Crawl? I have participated in the crawl for 17 years.

      What’s your medium? Using oil on wood and plaster.

      What are some new pieces we can find at your studio during this year’s Crawl? My new pieces are a series on the power of the feminine spirit.
