The Georgia Straight proudly sponsors the Tero Saarinen Company
On October 27 and 28, 8 p.m., Dance House presents the Tero Saarinen Company at the Vancouver Playhouse (600 Hamilton Street).
In the spirit of Finland's centennial, DanceHouse will kick off its 10th anniversary with a Vancouver debut performance by the celebrated Finnish dance troupe.
Led by dancer-choreographer Tero Saarinen, the company will perform Morphed, an evening-length work that was designed for seven male dancers and that explores themes of change and sensuality.
The work is performed to three pieces by orchestra conductor and composer Esa-Pekka Salonen: Concert étude for solo horn, Foreign Bodies, and Violin Concerto.
Theatre fans can also take advantage of a pre-show Speaking of Dance talk with Tero Saarinen, hosted by Georgia Straight arts editor Janet Smith. The talks will take place at 7:15 p.m. each night in the Vancouver Playhouse's upper lobby.
Tickets for the Tero Saarinen Company start at $35 and are available online or by calling 604-801-6225.
