OrganicLives sprouts raw vegan café in downtown Vancouver
Two years after establishing a well-regarded raw vegan restaurant in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, OrganicLives is expanding with a second location in the downtown core.
On December 14, OrganicLives opened a café in the Chopra Yoga Center (451 Granville Street).
“We will be dishing out the most nutritious, organic, and sustainable foods on the planet all day every weekday, just steps from numerous public transportation stops including Waterfront Station on the Canada Line,” an announcement on the OrganicLives website states. “Whether you’re a dedicated yogi or just passing on by, be sure to stop and fuel up on one of our irresistible smoothies and light meals to jump start your day!”
The Granville Street café features a pared-down version of the menu at OrganicLives’ restaurant at 1829 Quebec Street. On offer are entrées, smoothies, elixirs, and desserts.
Entrées include pizza and caesar salad, pad Thai, sprouted pecan sushi, and Hunza Valley granola. The smoothies and elixirs have names such as Blue Flame, and Cold and Flu.
For dessert, there’s chocolate, lemon, or raspberry macaroons, granola bars, and cakes known as the Ridiculous (ganache) and the OMG (coconut cream).
OrganicLives, whose Quebec Street restaurant opened in fall 2009, is owned by Preet Marwaha.
The Granville Street café is open on weekdays, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., and closed on all statutory holidays.
