Enter to win tickets to Monteverdi Vespers of 1610, presented by Early Music Vancouver, Vancouver Chamber Choir, and Pacific MusicWorks, at the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts on October 23.

Monteverdi Vespers of 1610, one of the stunning glories of the Baroque repertoire, is full of dazzling virtuosity, exotic instruments, and movements of sensuous intimacy, off-set by bursts of large-scale sonic splendour. GRAMMY winning conductor Stephen Stubbs leads nine outstanding Canadian and International vocalists, Vancouver Chamber Choir and an ensemble of acclaimed musicians specializing in 17th century music.

Published in 1610 as an audition piece in support of Monteverdi’s application to the illustrious post of music director of St. Mark’s Cathedral in Venice, this monumental work is the greatest pillar of early Baroque repertoire and a living testament to the composer’s incomparable skill and imagination.
