Health Canada has issued a product-safety notice about Sonic Brake Fluid DOT 3 in a white 350-millilitre bottle.

That's because it may contain power steering fluid.

"Using this product could result in a failure of the braking system," the feds say on their website.

Recochem Inc. has recalled the product but 1,500 units have already been sold across Canada between September 2016 and June 2017.

The distributor is Saskatchewan-based Federated Co-operatives Ltd.
