This cosy, brick-walled Greek family restaurant offers some of the best dining bargains in Kitsilano. A juicy six-ounce sirloin with baked potatoes, tossed salad, and garlic bread only costs $14.50. But it’s the pizzas that really set Double DD apart, notably the mouth-watering Number 22 with chicken, garlic, feta, spinach, and onions. There are also gluten-free options.

It was founded as a takeout joint in 1989 by Greek immigrants Dmitri and Dmitra Danakas—hence, the name Double DD. Now, their sons, John and Nick, are running a full-service licensed restaurant as Dmitri and Dmitra still craft their original sauces in the kitchen. In the old days, if you bought one pizza, you would get the second one for $4.95. Nowadays, the second one costs $11.95. The Danakas bought the building in the 1980s, which might explain why everything on the menu is so damn affordable.
