If you remember all of the lace and spandex of the '80s, then you are not Madonna’s target consumer. Last August, the iconic singer launched a teen fashion line called Material Girl with her daughter, Lourdes, at Macy's retailers in the U.S. Next spring, this collection will become available in Canada.

Material Girl is a joint venture between the singer, her manager Guy Oseary, and the Iconix Brand Group. Canada will mark a worldwide push for the brand. In spring 2011, Material Girl will be sold in 91 Bay stores across the country, including the Bay downtown (674 Granville Street).

The line includes apparel, footwear, and accessories. Taking inspiration from Madonna's "Like a Virgin" look, Material Girl is a mix of glam rock meets punk style that is heavy on the black lace and bows. The fall 2010 collection includes sequined dresses, cropped faux leopard fur jackets, faux leather motorcycle jackets, distressed drainpipe denim, two-toned leggings, plaid shirts, ruffled miniskirts, and cropped lace tops. All of these items are priced between $12 to $68.

In celebration of the launch next year, the Bay released a limited edition sequined tank top on Thursday (December 16).
