Coming out on "Don't ask, don't tell" repeal day

Today (September 20), the U.S. military's shameful "Don't ask, don't tell" policy finally came to an end. After years of official repression, gay men and lesbians can now serve openly in the American armed forces.

YouTube user AreYouSuprised has been making videos for months about being closeted and gay in the military. This morning, he celebrated the repeal of "Don't ask, don't tell" by coming out to his father over the phone.

A week ago, AreYouSuprised posted his own It Gets Better video.
