Returning for its second consecutive year, JFL NorthWest will once again bring plenty of laughs to comedy fans in 2017, announcing big names like Trevor Noah and Sarah Silverman in its lineup.

Between February 16 and 25, more than 20 standup, sketch, and improv shows will be presented at various venues throughout the city.

The comedy festival first hit Vancouver in the winter of 2016 after the NorthWest Comedy Fest and Just For Laughs joined forces to bring the city a larger and more diverse event.

Next year’s roster includes an impressive list of headliners, with big names like Noah, Silverman, Tom Segura, Chris D’Elia, Brian Posehn, Iliza Shlesinger, Jon Dore, Nate Bargatze, K. Trevor Wilson, and Barry Crimmins, among others.

Trevor Noah will deliver a set at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on February 23.

A number of additional showcase-style productions will bolster the lineup.

The festival will also highlight local talent with its returning “Best of the West Series”, which will include Alicia Tobin’s Come Draw With Me, Cords Comedy, Eight ½ Inches of Comedy, The Hero Show, and more.

You'll recognize headliner Silverman, an Emmy-winning actress, creator, writer, producer, comedian, and author from The Sarah Silverman Program, The Book of Henry, The Lonely Island’s Popstar: Never Stop Stopping, or the acclaimed Showtime series Masters of Sex. Her memoir The Bedwetter: Stories of Courage, Redemption, and Pee was a New York Times bestseller. Silverman will seek to wet the pants of audience members at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on February 25 at 7 p.m.

After his takeover of Jon Stewart’s position at the Daily Show, Trevor Noah quickly became one of North America’s most popular comedians. His one-hour standup special, Trevor Noah: Lost in Translation, recently debuted on Comedy Central. Noah will hit the stage at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on February 23 at 7 p.m.

SirusXM’s Top Comic Showcase will include Canadian comics Chris Robinson, Sophie Buddle, Darcy Michael, Kevin Banner, and Canada Laughs’ host Ben Miner. It goes down on February 23 at the Comedy MIX.
