Looking for some artistic inspiration this weekend? Perhaps you’d like to try your hand at ceramics, and sculpt up a beautiful creation as a DIY holiday gift.

The Museum of Anthropology (6393 N.W. Marine Drive) at the University of British Columbia will be hosting two ceramic workshops tomorrow (December 10).

Led by acclaimed Mexican ceramic artist Javier Ramirez (the ceramic artist in residence at MOA until December 16), participants will get to design and create their own ceramic works, which will be fired in an on-site dugout, wood-burning kiln.

The first workshop (10:30 to 12:30 p.m.) will be family friendly, so the kids can work their creative minds alongside their parents. The second workshop (2:30 to 5 p.m.) will be open to adults only.

Attendees will also receive admission to the museum.
