The Cultch announces diverse 2024/2025 season lineup

The Cultch has announced a stacked lineup for its 51st season of programming across its three theatres.

Launching the 2024/2025 season, which sees shows at the Historic Theatre, Vancity Culture Lab, and York Theatre, is Cliff Cardinal’s As You Like It, or the Land Acknowledgment, a distinguished winner of the 2023 Governor General Literary Award for Drama. This impactful examination of land acknowledgements is sure to captivate audiences.

Dance productions to look forward to include choreographed multimedia indigenous dance with Raven Mother and contemporary conceptual hip-hop with Prism.

For theatre, The Cultch is introducing multiple plays. Highlights include The Search Party’s Pulitzer nominee Dance Nation production and the world premiere of Beauty and the Beast: My Life from Niall McNeil, who identifies as an artist with Down Syndrome.

A local favourite returns to the theatre with East Van Panto: Robin Hood, a classic retelling of the fairytale with a political twist from returning writing duo Jivesh Parasram and Christine Quintana.

For those looking to take in the circus, the upcoming 24/25 season brings a family-friendly version, Duck Pond, and Haus of YOLO, an examination of fast fashion.
