Dancing on the Edge Festival returns to Vancouver for its 36th year

      More than 30 performances will take to the stage at this year’s Dancing on the Edge Festival. Marking its 36th season, 2024r’s festival solidifies Dancing on the Edge as the longest-running professional dance festival in Canada.

      Across 10 days and multiple theatres, the Dancing on the Edge brings the world of contemporary dance to Vancouver with a mix of world premieres, Canadian debuts, and work-in-progress performances.

      “Dancing on the Edge is recognized nationally for the kinesthetic ripples and blasts of energetic waves brought to the stage each year by a wide range of artistic visions and experiences,” shares Donna Spencer, Dancing on the Edge’s artistic producer, in a statement. “We can’t wait for audiences to experience this year’s lineup.”

      Among the 2024 programming is the world premiere of Peter Bingham and EDAM’s Dead Weighting, along with Company 605’s Iossy, Clala Dance Project’s Uchi, Helen Walkley’s blocking, Bell Spirale Dance Project’s assemble, and Joshua Beamish and MOVETHECOMPANY’s Salt and Gravity in Your Eyes by the Furious Grace Dance Theatre. Exciting up-and-coming choreographic talents featured include Anya Saugstad, Clala Dance Project, and Simran Sachar.

      Tickets are available starting May 13.
