Inaugural South Rock Comedy Festival to take over White Rock and South Surrey in September

      In a reveal similar to a new Taylor Swift album, the Instagram account @southrockcomedyfest debuted out of nowhere approximately two weeks ago, promising an announcement for a brand-new comedy festival.

      What we know so far is that the South Rock Comedy Festival will make its inaugural debut from September 19 to September 21 in South Surrey and White Rock. 

      More details will be shared on May 14 during a special announcement event featuring the festival co-founders and local comedians Lizzie Allen and Ryan Lachance. Stay tuned!

      UPDATE, May 15: The first few comics have been announced:

      September 19 

      • Beecher Place in Crescent Beach, Surrey will host Victoria’s Elyott Ryan and Nanaimo’s Peter Hudson alongside the themed touring show Deadbeat Dads.
      • White Rock will see an amateurcomedy competition finished with headliner Randii Andii.

      September 20

      • Elgin Hall in Surrey will host Lizzie Allan and then feature a late-night show with Harmeet Singh Kohli.
      • In White Rock, Vancouver favourite Charlie Demers will headline the Oceana PARC Playhouse with Seattle’s Kermet Apio supporting.

      September 21

       

       

       

      • Calgary’s Dave Nystrom will headline the Oceana PARC Playhouse in White Rock.
      • At Surrey’s Ocean Park Hall, local legend Graham Clark will headline with featured support from Denver-based Travis Nelson.
