The B.C. Buds Spring Arts Fair brings dance, theatre, film, and music together at the Firehall Arts Centre (280 Cordova Street) from May 10 to 12.

The ninth annual arts fair showcases both emerging and established performing artists from B.C. This year, more than 30 different performances will take place, including The Playwright’s Tasting Room, where audiences can sample 12 plays from local playwrights including Sally Stubbs, Loretta Seto, Lynna Goldhar Smith, and Susinn McFarlen; Young Dracula created by Corey Payette and Marshall McMahen, Johnny Tomorrow Returns from Michael Unger, and Artist is a Dying Language by Milly Mumford, which blends belly dancing, storytelling, and music into one exciting performance.

Also on this year’s program is I am the Bastard Daughter of Engelbert Humperdink, a new work from Working Spark Theatre, and Inside/out, a new dance piece by choreographer Meridth Kalaman.

Performances kick off May 10 from 6:30 to 11 p.m., followed by May 11 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 11 p.m., and May 12 from 1 to 6 p.m. Admission to the B.C. Buds Spring Arts Fair is by donation.
