The Granville Strip, opening March 6, will boast Vancouver’s tallest stripper pole

Vancouver's newest strip club promises to allow exotic dancers to "take their shows to new verticals" with a 20-foot pole—the city's tallest.

The Granville Strip is set to open March 6 at 1050 Granville Street (between Helmcken and Nelson streets) in the Granville Entertainment District.

"As a high-end show lounge, The Granville Strip promises to deliver the elements of a traditional strip bar, while adding the upbeat atmosphere of a nightclub and the entertainment value reminiscent of a sensual and seductive cirque show. Not only has the owner put in the traditional stripper pole, but also added rigging points in the ceiling for these gorgeous women to dangle and contort off silks and hoops above the audience," states a news release from Waide Luciak, proprietor and general manager.

This peeler bar will feature two levels, a 6,500-square-foot show lounge, and be "female friendly".

For thirsty customers, the drink selection will include "fine whiskey and champagne, as well as 14 draft taps and 4 wine taps".

The release also notes the establishment will be open seven days a week.

The Granville Strip, which has an Instagram account, will join Brandi’s, No. 5 Orange, and the Penthouse in serving downtown strip-club customers.

Well, they must at least let the guy, who walks around with the sign "Smile if you masterbate" in, after all, he's been on Granville longer than The Granville Strip.
I mean, let's add a little class to it.

It's about time Vancouver got some adult entertainment back. We've let the activists and feminists take all of the fun out of the city and try to turn everyone into sexless blobs.

Finally - Your anti-feminist sneers obviously got in the way of your reading the article, which mentions the three existing strip clubs just a few blocks away from the Granville Strip, not to mention the abundance of 'adult entertainment' options listed in the back pages of the print edition of this publication.

It appears you get off more on hating women than the entertainment they provide. Grow up.

Try doing some research before making such knee-jerk, anti-male comments. The open adult entertainment scene in Vancouver is a shadow of it's former self. Just because someone objects to the nastier side of feminism doesn't mean they hate women. What an idiotic comment.

Now that the Tories have destroyed all the full-time jobs and hollowed out the economy, I suppose it's back to the pole for a lot of young people. How inspiring!

      Fun reading the comments.
And happy to see GS opening

The demise of strip bars had more to do with access to Internet porn.
BTW. Anyone remember the "Chicklettes" circa Sept ' 86???

Happy they are female friendly too as my gf is the one who really enjoys lap dances (from well endowed blondes). I enjoy the result
      : )
Looking forward to taking her to GS
