Straight Presents a Delhi 2 Dublin video premiere

It doesn't quite get more wordly than Delhi 2 Dublin. The bhangra beats created by founding members Tarun Nayar, Sanjay Saran, and Ravi Binning fuse almost too seamlessly with Celtic fiddle melodies and electronic rhythyms that make this band's sound something truly original.

It's been nine years since they first came together at Vancouver's Celtic Fest in 2006. Since then, their music has evolved, covering various ends of the spectrum, incorporating everything from dub to reggae, and never failing to get audiences on their feet with their vibrant and dynamic live performances.

In anticipation of the band's forthcoming studio album, We're All Desi, set for release on September 18, Delhi 2 Dublin are releasing their video for "East Van", which, unsurprisingly, was shot right here in Vancouver, and features the band cruising around the city in a Toyota Corona.

"It’s basically a love song to the area of Vancouver which birthed us, almost 10 years ago. Most of us in the band live in East Van, and Delhi 2 Dublin grew up playing at all the crazy street parties and raves in the area. So in June, we decided to shoot a little video at Car Free Day on Commercial Drive – an event that we’ve played a bunch of times before," said the band of their new video.

The band will be touring North America in the weeks leading up to the album's release, with dates in Prince George, Nanaimo, and Victoria.
