Wild versus farmed salmon (video)

    1 of 1 2 of 1

Environmentalist and biologist Alexandra Morton is one of the loudest voices in the fight against open-net fish farming on the B.C. coast.

Morton recently posted this video showing what happens when wild Pacific salmon and farmed Atlantic salmon are cooked side by side.

The obvious difference? The fat content.

That's not all. On her blog, Morton says there's other health risks.

Salmon feedlots raising farmed Atlantic salmon in BC ocean waters are killing our wild salmon. The salmon feedlot industry is unsustainable and full of diseases brought here from Norway - no-one should ever buy or consume feedlot (farmed) salmon!

Just wondering if you compared wild Atlantic to farmed Atlantic as Atlantics do have a higher fat content then most other salmon, especially when compared to Sockeye - apples to apples people!

      This video, that is.
I've cooked farmed salmon a number of times and have never seen anyhting like this happen.
      This video is absurd.
How far do some people feel they need to go in order to bash a product they don't like?
