Cheeky Craigslist ad offers Vancouver renters snow fort for $1,800 a month
Well, it turns out the city’s record-breaking snowfall wasn’t a total inconvenience. In fact, one lucky Vancouverite could end up thanking Mother Nature for his or her new digs.
A recent Craigslist ad is poking fun at Vancouver’s less-than-affordable housing market by offering renters a cozy snow fort for $1,800 a month—cheaper than the cost of a studio in Gastown.
The “bright and cheery” shelter features an open floor plan, air conditioning, and a built-in wine cooler. It’s situated in the prestigious Point Grey neighbourhood and is “close to good schools and walking distance to shops”.
And animal lovers, rejoice: the igloolike suite also allows small pets “with thick fur”.
The downside: it’s only four square feet and you’ll likely be chillin'—literally—in someone’s backyard. But at least it’s not on fire.
