Filming of Deadpool 2 leads to street closures in downtown Vancouver

      Today is the second straight day of filming in downtown Vancouver for the sequel of the blockbuster movie Deadpool.

      The Deadpool 2 shoot is shutting down a couple of streets, while two others will be subject to traffic controls Tuesday (August 8), according to reports by CBC and Global News.

      West Hastings Street between Howe and Bute streets is closed from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

      Thurlow Street between West Pender and West Cordova streets is off limits from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

      There will be traffic controls on Burrard Street between West Pender and West Cordova streets from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

      There will also be intermittent traffic controls on Hornby Street between West Pender and West Hastings from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

      Vancouver-raised actor Ryan Reynolds is back in the starring role in Deadpool 2. On social media, he thanked the Vancouver Police Department and the people of Vancouver for the closures.
