On September 20-23 and 26-29, Kokoro Dance presents the world premiere of Embryotrophic Cavatina at the Roundhouse Community Arts and Recreation Centre (181 Roundhouse Mews).

Kokoro Dance's newest full-length work will see four dancers strip themselves bare, literally and figuratively, their motion and stillness embodying the rawness of humanity as they transcend superficial layers of persona and ego.

Embryotrophic Cavatina was choreographed by Kokoro Dance codirectors and award-winning dance artists Barbara Bourget and Jay Hirabayashi and will feature a score by Polish composer Zbigniew Preisner as well as performances by Bourget, Hirabayashi, Molly McDermott, and Billy Marchenski.

Of the performance, Bourget says that "working with a dream creative team, we are thrilled to finally reveal the culmination of two decades of work, ingenuity, and growth to our cherished audiences.”

Tickets for Embryotrophic Cavatina start at $20 and are available online or by calling 604-662-4966.
