if headlights on a car were strobe lights, would that be safe? no? than what makes it safe to ride around on your bicycle with a strobe light on the front?

I was under the impression it would make me easie to see. I don't like too-bright headlights of any sort but these are just little ones with AA batteries, cmon

It's so you can quickly tell the difference between a bike and any other vehicle. If you're a good driver, you know how to share the road with anybody using it. A blinking light from a bike goes a long way in giving you more information about what's around you.

A blinking light can tell you its a cyclist and not something else... because cyclist move so slowly in relation to a car the blinking light also differentiates between a moving vehicle and something stationary. I'm glad it grabs your attention, it is doing it job :-)

I use it because I don't want you to kill me with your car. Simple, but a fact of life for cyclists.
Driving/owning your car is an illusion of being in control

What's good about cars--with or without headlights on? The combustion engine is The Master. Man is the slave. Show me a world leader willing to get off his addiction to oil...before it's too late.
