No ma'am!

To all the men (and even some women out there) please stop using the term "ma'am". I don't care if it's a polite term, it's rude and highly offensive to young, vibrant women who are not in the "ma'am" stage of their life yet.

I'm sure he didn't mean anything by it ma'am. It's just politeness on our part talking to an older lady such as yourself.

I'm sorry, ma'am, but you need to learn how to accept things as they are doubtlessly intended (female equivalent of sir - a polite way to address someone that has reached the age of majority; 19+ locally) or you will just have to put up with your delusion that everyone is insulting you.
No ma'am?

Complaining over manners and politeness? Wow.
If you don't like that polite term, there are plenty of rude ones I'd be happy to use.

You are only as ma'am as you feel. Sticks and stones, ma'am...
No one of consequence

Here is some unsolicited advice on how to encourage others to refer to you using a term with which you feel more comfortable: instead of complaining, offer an alternative honorific.
For example, next time you are called 'ma'am', smile, thank the person for their good manners, and tell them that while you appreciate their respectful tone, due to your age you would prefer to be called by whichever honorific you have chosen. People will be impressed by your graciousness and more likely to address you in a manner with which you are comfortable.
how about...

how about we just say to you '' have a great day, ya angry twat!''. but with a smile, of course. :)

My voice suddenly got lower, has it? Maybe my knickers are too tight? Listen, I like to be called Governor or The Boss. I don't like Ma'am - I'm not the bloody Queen. So take your pick.

How about "signorina"? It's an old term to address politely an unmarried woman or a young woman. Be careful about the pronunciation, it's not SPANISH at all!
