We're Screwed

The way I see it, Vancouver has no hope of remaining the way it used to. Pretty much everyone in the rest of the world wants to move HERE specifically because it's the only city in North America with good weather and no Trump.
No-one want to move to Kamloops, Saskatoon or Ottawa, they want to move to Vancouver. Soon everyone that composed the culture of this city will have moved to the suburbs or elsewhere and the transplanted people living here will all be wage slaves to the 1%. They can have it.

can't say the weather is good - just maybe good compared to the rest of Canada, and it isn't everybody wants to come here - they want in the US, they just can't get in. And Canada has introduced the Global Talent Stream, which gives basically anyone entry. The two largest populations, India and China, are where we are getting most immigrants from, this is not really multicultural. And the idea of more people means more jobs - refer back to India and China - they have the most people, and are exporting citizens.

I say Vancouver... err GVRD as whole will become one massive metropolis in 10 years time. It's pretty much set up for that, at this point. We are going to rival LA and SF, just you wait.

I miss my home. What this place is now isn't even close to how beautiful and easy a place it was once. I was born and raised here a long time ago, and now I feel like a stranger in a strange land. I miss my home. But, I'm leaving anyway.

Name a major world city that is "remaining the way it used to be"?

Gregor Robertson is going to turn Vancouver into a playground for the rich only. It's hard to miss.
