B-Line creeper

Q. What do you call it when a dude traps you between the yellow poles on a crowded bus and grinds his crotch into your ass for two stops, then leers at you when he gets off the bus? A. Sexual assault. Thanks for making me feel totally unsafe on public transit. Now it's your turn to feel unsafe: if I ever see you again, I will break your fucking nose.

When: Monday, February, 1 2010

Where: Westbound B-Line btwn Granville & Cambie around 5:30 p.m.

My suggestions (next time): (1) Notify fellow passengers what's going on. (2) Photograph (cell phones) the pervert; ask others to do the same. (3) Call out / notify the bus driver, who is likely in direct contact with TransLink security. (4) File a report with the Vancouver police. You absolutely have the right not to be abused / assaulted, sexually or otherwise. Thanks for posting / sharing! Victoria

this exact same thing happened to me but the guy had no idea my boyfriend was standing next to me while he was doing this. He got his ass kicked; so if this guy is about 5'8 with dark hair and dirty clothes, it's seems as though he didn't learn his lesson yet. I'd go with the advice mentioned above from "victoria_bc."

Bus rider

@victoria_bc All of those things I should have done. I wasn't thinking clearly, though. It was a super-crowded bus and at first I thought I was imagining things. He had one arm holding on to a pole on either side of me and I was pretty trapped. I was uncomfortable the whole ride but it was the creepy smile he gave me when he got off the bus that made me realize I hadn't been imagining things. Next time I'll be screaming "get your crotch away from me".

If I had a good description of him, I'd totally file a complaint. Unfortunately he was behind me the whole time and I only got a brief look at him when he got off the bus.

It is completely inappropriate to invade into people’s personal spaces and make comments or inappropriately touch someone. I just cannot believe people do stuff like this on transit.

I do have one suggestion though for everyone – I suggest everyone just drive and don’t ride the bus again.
