Oh, hey! Remember when we told you about  CELINUNUNU, Céline Dion's gender-neutral clothing line for children? That item generated a few bizarro comments about how Dion "sold her soul to the deep state" and the like. I hesitate to highlight any of them, because I don't like to give undue attention to the sorts of people who make bizarro comments on this website, but here's an example:

Proving that unrestrained lunacy is not the sole domain of those who comment on Straight.com articles, people with actual influence have weighed in on the clothing line. It's hard to see what anyone could actually find objectionable about the intentions behind the collection. According to its website, "CELINUNUNU liberates children from the traditional roles of boy/girl and enables younger people to grow on values of equality with the freedom strengthen their own power of personality based on mutual respect." 

Of course, there are those in this world who seemingly never developed the ability to mind their own fucking business. Enter John Esseff, a Catholic priest for 65 years and an exorcist in the Diocese of Scranton, Pennsylvania, for over 40 years. 

That's right, he's an exorcist. And we should listen to him, because someone who believes he has the power to cast demons out of the possessed is definitely someone with a clear-eyed view of how the world works.

In an interview with the National Catholic Register, Esseff said... well, he said a lot of things:

“I’m convinced that the way this gender thing has spread is demonic,” he said. “It’s false. I don’t even know how many genders there’s supposed to be now, but there are only two that God made.” The demonic dimension of creating such a clothing line is very deep, according to him. 

“The devil is going after children by confusing gender,” he said. “When a child is born, what is the first things we say about that child? It’s a boy, or it’s a girl. That is the most natural thing in the world to say. But to say that there is no difference is satanic.”

To take away the male or femaleness of a baby is hitting at the very heart of nature by denying a simple truth of the way that child was created, Msgr. Esseff explained. “People behind this are influencing children to disorder,” he said. “This is definitely satanic. There is a mind behind it—an organized mindset."

The Quebec-born Dion was raised Catholic, but as she said in a 2014 interview, her views on spirituality have evolved:

“It’s important for people to have something they can touch and believe in,” she says passionately. “I say that to believe in yourself is to believe in God. For me, God is life itself, the birds, the air, the sunrise and the sunset, the children. Yes, that is where I find God. Not in a church.”

Uh-oh! That definitely sounds satanic to me. Quick, someone call in an exorcist!
