The annual summertime spectacle returns for its 26th year at English Bay on three separate nights during the last week of July.

Participating countries in the 2016 Honda Celebration of Light include Netherlands (July 23), Australia (July 27), and United States (July 30).

Each competing team will be represented by a fireworks production company hailing from its own country. Royal Fireworks will be representing Netherlands, and Howard’s Fireworks for Australia.

As for the United States, spectators can expect a little bit of magic in Vancouver skies. The Walt Disney Company will be putting on the fireworks display for team USA.

The fireworks competition will begin at 10 p.m. each night, rain or shine. Music can be heard on LG 104.3 FM and through the festival’s mobile app. The winning team will be announced on Sunday, July 31.

Vancouver’s annual fireworks showcase is the world’s longest-running offshore fireworks competition.

“The Honda Celebration of Light is one of the mostly highly anticipated events of the summer and we look forward to three days of festivities celebrating the essence of Vancouver,” said Paul Tilbury, Co-Chair of the Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society, in a press statement.

This is the largest public festival in B.C., and free to spectators of all ages.

VIP viewing areas are also available with the advance purchase of tickets, including The Keg Lounge, The Inukshuk Lounge, YVR Observation Deck, and YVR Business Class Cabanas in the YVR Observation Deck.
