VIFF 2014: Housebound is a stunning good time

    1 of 2 2 of 2

      Housebound (New Zealand)

A stunner of a good time that will equally please horror fans and people who avoid the genre. Just the right amount of biting, well-timed humour and genuine scares mark the tale of a troubled young woman, played with razor-bladed spunk by Morgana O’Reilly, whose shenanigans land her under house arrest. Living with her mum (the superbly scattered Rima Te Wiata) is horror enough, but the house also seems to be going through a set of paranormal convulsions. Do you think social services will help? Not bloody likely!
