No interviews here, no voice-over: just a literally immersive trip into the arduous work of a fish boat off the coast of New Bedford, Massachusetts, often in the middle of the night. The film frequently plunges its camera beneath the surface of the sea, under the nets being hauled, or joins the fish swishing around on the floor of the boat before they’re gutted. Still, the digital footage is awfully rough; and has anyone heard of Deadliest Catch?
