The Whistler Film Festival has announced its 2023 lineup, giving movie buffs yet another reason to visit the picturesque mountain town.

The festival opens with the Canadian premiere of Maestro, which was written, produced, directed by Bradley Cooper (and stars him, too, alongside Carey Mulligan). The Netflix film follows the love story between American conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein and Chilean-Costa Rican actress Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein.

Also included in the lineup is celebrated director Ava DuVernay’s Origin, which tells the story of Pulitzer Prize winning writer Isabel Wilkerson; the Canadian premiere of May December, which stars Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore; and SOLO, about a drag performer who experiences multiple types of heartbreak, directed by Sophie Dupuis.

There is, of course, a lot more to discover still. The full list of films can be browsed here.
