A silent Jian Ghomeshi was swarmed by photographers and camera operators as he left a Toronto courthouse today.

Ghomeshi's lawyer, Marie Henein, said that her client will plead not guilty to four charges of sexual assault and one count of choking.

The former CBC broadcaster's bail has been set at $100,000.

Henein, a well-known criminal lawyer, obtained a publication ban on what was said at the bail hearing.

Ghomeshi will live with his mother and agreed to turn over his passport.

He will be back in court on January 8.

One of his accusers, actor Lucy DeCouture, issued the following statement today:

"The past month has seen a major shift in the conversation about violence against women. It has been an overwhelming and painful time for many people, including myself, but also very inspiring. I hope that victims' voices continue to be heard and that this is the start of a change that is so desperately needed."
