Vancouver police are searching for witnesses to help them figure out what happened to a senior who was found severely injured in Stanley Park.

After 2 a.m. on November 16, when police responded to a call from a passerby, they found an 80-year-old Vancouver man at the wheel of a 2011 grey Toyota Corolla in the parking lot north of Brockton Oval in Stanley Park. He was suffering from serious injuries.

He was rushed to hospital where he remains in serious condition. The man's name has not been released.

Due to his medical condition, police have been unable to speak with the man to find out how he sustained his injuries or what he was doing in the park.

Police are asking for the public's help in solving the mystery of what happened to this man.

“Even the smallest tip could help us find out what happened to this man,” VPD spokesperson Constable Jason Doucette stated in a news release.

Anyone in Stanley Park in the early morning hours of November 16 who saw the man's grey car, or who has any information about what may have happened, is asked to call the Vancouver Police Major Crime Section at 604-717-2541 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
