Vancouver police seek public's help in finding West Side assault victim

      Around 2 a.m. on February 17, witnesses heard a young white woman screaming in the south lane of West 10th Avenue near Alder Street in Vancouver.

      According to a Vancouver police news release, a man was seen repeatedly striking her. 

      The woman was also seen lying on the ground before the man pulled her into a late-model silver sedan and sped away.

      Police are seeking the public's help in finding the woman, saying she could need medical attention.

      The assault took place a block and a half south of the Toys 'R' Us store on West Broadway and two blocks west of Oak Street.

      The victim is believed to be in her 20s and has a slender build with long, straight, platinum-blonde hair with bangs. She was wearing a black skirt and a neutral-coloured top.

      The man is believed to be in his 30s and was wearing a long black trench coat and blue jeans. He's described as clean-shaven and having slicked-back dark hair.
