The 1atatime Rescue Society in Langley was visited again yesterday by animal-cruelty investigators from the B.C. SPCA.

It resulted in the seizure of 17 animals from the operator, Sandra Simans, at a home on 216th Street.

Six months ago, the B.C. SPCA conducted a similar raid on the property, taking away 88 animals.

Simans filed an unsuccessful appeal to the Farm Industry Review Panel against the earlier seizure.

The quasijudicial body ordered Simans to pay $81,000 to the B.C SPCA to cover veterinary bills and other costs.

The decision revealed that the society had animals seized in another B.C. SPCA raid in 2012.

The 1atatime Rescue Society is listed as a registered charity on the Canada Revenue Agency website, which means it can give tax receipts to donors.

The society generated $1,621 in revenue in 2015. The CRA hasn't posted its return for 2016.
