The Railway Stage & Beer Café presents:

Rampant Lion with special guests Cobra Ramone and The Deep Cove

Rampant Lion (Vancouver) // https://rampantlion.bandcamp.com/

2018 brings the release of “Songs For Love Lost” the first full-length album by Rampant Lion. The album was funded by VANS as part of their Passion Project Series. Recorded at the Noise Floor Studios on Gabriola Island by producer Jordan Koop, the album features a dynamic mix of heavy, jammed-out rock songs and stripped-down, emotional ballads all influenced by 1960’s/70’s classic rock and 90's grunge.

Rampant Lion is a Vancouver grunge band that started when three friends climbed into the attic of an old house and discovered a musical chemistry beyond the ordinary. Nicknamed “The Rampant Lion” after an old pub sign found in the alley, the house had been a gathering place for artists, writers, and musicians since the hippie days of the 1960’s. It was in this creative den that the band Rampant Lion was born and then released into the wild…

The past 5 years have seen Rampant Lion self-record their debut EP "The Attic" with Ian Huntley (Owl Skowl), tour British Columbia, record their second EP "Mirror Distortion" in Seattle over just 3 days with legendary producer Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Mudhoney), play exciting live shows in Western Canada, and record their 3rd effort "Endless Night Nameless City" with Jordan Koop (War Baby Dead Soft) at The Noise Floor Studios. "Endless Night Nameless City" has received airplay on college radio across Canada.

Influenced by bands such as Queens of the Stone Age, Nirvana, Thin Lizzy, Oasis, Stone Temple Pilots, Weezer, Soundgarden, and T-Rex, the band creates a sound that is familiar yet current, aggressive yet melodic, fun yet serious. This sound is the roar of RAMPANT LION.

Cobra Ramone Music (Vancouver) // http://www.cobraramone.com/

Cobra is small, plays a Gibson SG and wails like a banshee on fire. Trevor is giant, a former model and a woodsman who found his calling tickling some ivories. Pat Steward is tall, and has God-like groove and speaks in riddles.

The Deep Cove (Vancouver) // https://www.thedeepcove.com/

The Deep Cove is a rock band, awash with distorted guitars and intriguing melodies.Fronted by transmedia artist Leanne Dunic, the band’s debut album (produced by Jose Contreras of By Divine Right) is soundtrack to Dunic’s book “To Love the Coming End”. Darkly cinematic and catchy, songs are layered like the clouds that blanket the band's coastal British Columbian home. If you must ask, they may sound like The Pixies if led by Kim Deal, or perhaps a little reminiscent of PJ Harvey and Black Mountain. Either way, The Deep Cove is hard to label, and decidedly out of step with the current musical flavour of the month.
