A Little Nightmare Music at the Kay Meek Centre combines comedy and classical music

Comedy and classical music? The two would seem to go together as naturally as, well, Carrot Top and Chopin, but virtuosos Aleksey Igudesman and Richard Hyung-Ki Joo seem to be hitting the right chord with audiences. Their YouTube antics alone have scored over 14 million views. The violinist and pianist bring their hit, A Little Nightmare Music, to the Kay Meek Centre this Saturday (September 26). Picture antics like losing a bow to a vacuum cleaner or a musician playing the piano upside down while reading a paper, eating, and talking on the phone. Think of a more surreal Victor Borge and you’ll get close to the critically lauded musical mayhem.
