Barbarella at the Waldorf Hotel launch party

The best part about moving to a new home is the excuse to throw a housewarming party—and that's exactly what Vancouver salon Barbarella plans to do.

The salon has been a Main Street staple for the past 12 years and has developed a reputation for being as much of an art gallery as it is a place to get the hair of the young and hip dyed, chopped, and styled. The 3277 Main Street location currently displays the art of Ronan Boyle, the Dark, and Laure-Elaine Cote, who is not only co-founder and owner, but also serves as the shop's art director. Now, Cote is opening a second shop in the lobby of the newly renovated Waldorf Hotel (1489 E. Hastings Street).

To celebrate their new digs, Barbarella will be hosting an official launch party on Friday (February 4) from 9 p.m. onwards at the Waldorf. Drinks, dancing, and mingling with the city's well-coiffed can be expected.
