Get out your leg warmers and oversize sweatshirts: Flashdance—The Musical is ready to high-kick like a maniac into the Queen Elizabeth Theatre from Tuesday to next Sunday (November 11 to 16).

Based on the 1983 box-office and fashion phenomenon, the show tells the story of Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel-mill welder who dances at a bar by night and dreams of becoming a professional performer. In addition to 1980s anthems like “Flashdance—What a Feeling” and “Gloria”, the live musical features 16 new songs by Robert Cary and Robbie Roth. And the dancing? Word has it it’s got the requisite flash.
