      CONCERTS

      American jazz vocalist Kate McGarry and her husband, guitarist Keith Ganz, perform at the St. James Hall.

      GIGANTABIROOMCOBALTAPALOOZA features performances by Dada Plan, Invisible Ray, Spoon River, and DJs Ryan Dyck, Nicolas Bragg, and members of B-Lines, the Shilohs, and Destroyer. Held at the Cobalt.

      English '80s hard rockers Whitesnake take the stage at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver.

      Vancouver jazz group the Hard Rubber Orchestra (pictured above) performs in support of new album Crush at Pat's Pub & Brewhouse.

      The Waldorf hosts the East Side Block Party, showcasing bands like Jay Tripwire, K.A.S.H., DJ Abel, the Response, Shotgun, and Lola Loops.

      The Big Band Big Bang features music by AROKIS Music Society's big bands Impressions and Urbana. Held at the Columbia Theatre.

      Fundraising event the Westcoast Motorcycle Ride to Live also includes a classic vehicle show-and-shine. Held at the Fraser Downs Racetrack & Casino.

      TAKE ACTION

      LITERARY EVENTS

      MUSIC

      The Vancouver Peace Choir performs with the Eric Hamber Secondary Chamber Choir and the New Westminster Secondary Chamber Choir. Held at Ryerson United Church.

      The Maple Ridge Alliance Church hosts an evening of pop and opera fusion with classical crossover group Vivace, featuring pianist Trevor Hoffmann.

      Pro Nova performs Beethoven's String Quartet Op. 18 No. 2, Shostakovich's String Quartet No. 8 Op. 110, and Brahms's Piano Quintet. Held at Mount Seymour United Church.
