RIP brother

My late friend's deadbeat dad came to his funeral on Saturday. He never hid how much he despised his dad for leaving his mom to raise two kids on her own while he ran off with another woman. Honestly, as much as nobody wanted him there, I felt extremely sorry for him. His son was an outstanding man who loved and cared about everyone, judged no one. Maybe he never cared as a dad, maybe he thought he'd never have to bury his 24 year old son. Either way, he gave me a remarkable friend and brother I will never forget. I never spoke to him at the funeral, but I hope he's ok too.

Tears...

Made me cry to read this. Death brings a strange perspective, as if you receded up a hill and see more but it's too much to understand.

You should have spoken to your dad. You don't know what pain he may be going through. Hopefully you will speak to him before either of you passes on.
