Freeloaders

I stare as she walks to the back of the bus never producing payment she said she had. Clench my teeth ass I slide my Faresaver in. As I walk to my seat I give her the death stare hoping I can force choke her. Quietly though I sit. I don't like Translink as much as the next guy but I pay my dues. Not because it's law but because I refuse to be a freeloader like some people. Transit is a privilege, not a right.

We work hard, and don't make a lot of money. But we can pay for our transit.

Transit should be a right. People who are low income should not be burdened by $7 a day for transport.

When translink is late and off schedule do I get a discount? No
When bus drivers are rude do I get to save fair? The problem with translink and any privately run city transportation system l is that they are like monopolies and therefore they don't have competition to force them to provide Good, consistent customer service. They are not responsible.

Another issue, ridiculously overpriced tickets for forgetting to buy a ticket... $180, wouldn't a $50 penality be enough of a slap on the wrist to teach that someone a lesson? I have literally forgot one time, I get caught and now I have to pay over $180... you think if I had $180 to spare I would be taking the transit?

Not to mention the outrageously payed transit police they have? Combine their salaries how many free tickets would that buy?

The lower income citizens have been screwed over by banks, the financial crisis, corrupt politicians... You ever hear about HSBC laundering money for the Mexican Cartles and none of them go to prison? Yah... Perhaps point your anti- freeloading poser heroism to the REAL problems of the world.

In City Transit should be free for everyone. Good on you for every free ticket you can get away with. For an organization filled with employees who are rude, who have left me late for work on multiple occasions, who penalize you into poverty if you forget to buy a ticket... ya fuck em. I would give that women a god damn hand shake

Transit is a right

Not a privilege.

Transit should be free

Public transit is something that benefits the poorest segment of our population

Charging 1hours wages for transportation daily is a CRIME

Actually, public Transit is a Service & an economical tool - without it I doubt many businesses in a metroplitan would survive period. But in your case & many others like yours(which I've also witnessed) a yes vote wouldn't change a damn thing - in fact you would see more of that so vote for lower taxes always. Don't be duped into by deceptive campains & always look at the bigger picture. Money hoarding will & does not boost economy but in fact is counter intuitive. Lower taxes so there's more money in peoples pockets which means more spending thus boosting the economy. If you choose not to vote for lowering taxes to boost economy then vote to raise wages. Wage raises will affect small business in the short term but because people will have more money to spend means businesses will benifit to the point where they will have to hire more people with higher wages to keep up. Raise wages or lower taxes - 1 or the other if the economy is to benefit.
