My height your weight

I've always been confused as to why a woman can say she isn't into tall guys and it's ok. But if a man isn't into fat chicks then he is shaming. It's not like a short guy can suddenly grow, but the overweight woman can loose weight.

I never eat popcorn or marshmallows, but suddenly have the urge to get either or both, to go with what is likely to unfold here...
agree but...

women are attracted to taller men for evolutionary reasons. whereas men are attracted to slim/thin women for cultural or personal reasons. that's why in some parts of the world fat women are considered the more attractive that slim/thin ones.

"women are attracted to taller men for evolutionary reasons."
Bullshit.
Tall people have shorter lifespans and worse health outcomes (statistics are unambiguous, even including higher cancer risk), and research indicates that this is true in many other animal species. There is nothing evolutionary about that in 2015. Purely atavistic instinct at work.
"...men are attracted to slim/thin women for cultural or personal reasons."
Generalization AND speculation, both dubious. A fit (NOT thin) body, with developed, visible muscles, is preferable for evolutionary reasons (longevity, better health, lower risk of injury and subsequent mortality, etc.) and FAR more attractive to me than a thin frame. I'd rather even an average build over skinny any day.
The preference for larger frames in women is also archaic. In primitive times, extra weight could mean the difference between successful gestation and childbirth, and less favorable outcomes for the fetus and/or the mother.
I didn't want to put my junk anywhere near this meatgrinder of a post, but that bit was just too daft.
english, do you speak it.

Men go for intelligence, looks fade.
Women in the west are an anomaly because they can bend the rules of life and nobody will call them out on it based on gender norms. The weight issue is the same as when a woman says "I'm fine" when in reality that means your ass is toast. Know the language and double speak.
Umm...?

If a girl were to say, "I'm not attracted to short guys" it would be equal to a man saying "I'm not attracted to tall girls" which, by the way, I hear a lot.
Not the same as a comparing height to weight. Fat shaming is gender neutral, a woman saying she doesn't like fat men is just as frowned upon as a man saying he doesn't like fat women.
Height isn't changeable, just like your skin. For the most part, your weight is.
Too funny

It looks like only one person is making a big deal about this but keeps talking about how he wants to stay out of it.

Frankly I'm a bit surprised no one has brought up the studies which indicate tall men make more money than their short counterparts. Don't we all just love a good post about how all Vancouver women are gold diggers (sarcasm people, I'm joking here).

its just the way women are, they can very contradictory. Notice that most BBW women only want slim to average sized men but dont really want to date BBM. Yet its shallow for men not to like them.
seriously

While people can scream fat shaming all they like with regard to the ladies, guys who are big have it worse. As Eddy noted, big girls often don't want anything to do with big guys, major hypocrisy. No one ever tells a slender woman she's fat shaming for refusing to date a BBM. It's
