Confused

Someone I used to work with started a Go Fund Me for her cat. She earns good money and just bought an apartment with her fiancé. Shit. I live in a basement suite! I'd love a cat. Go Fund Me would be a last resort for me though. Already at 1 / 10 of the goal though. It's impossible to keep up with the Jones and Joneses'. It's hard to keep feeling optimistic and happy about life when cats get more attention than you do.

Perhaps she's doing the Go Fund Me for her cat's Toxoplasma Gondi virus over-control. Suggest those who share living space with cats net-search Toxoplasma Gondi.

Selfish people

I love animals and would love to be able to have a pet again. But my current situation doesn’t allow for that and one of the reasons is the cost of having one. People who get a pet without having the economic ability to care for it in case it gets sick or injured, are so selfish! I’ve helped out people like this with vet costs because I care about the animals, but it really bugs me that they’re so irresponsible.

Never mind economics. Some people get animals and later on, in a year or two, get sick and can no longer hope to look after their pet. It becomes someone else's problem.

Well that’s not the same thing then, is it? I wouldn’t judge anyone harshly for having a pet that they wound up not being able to care for because of unforeseen circumstances. I’m talking about people who get a pet because they want one, but who don’t have the ability to properly care for them if they get sick. They can’t even afford to pay for pet health insurance, let alone the cost of a surgery or something like that. It’s the knowing their circumstances in advance and still making the decision to get the pet that is the selfish part for me.
