Sound of Dragon Music Festival preserves and celebrates Chinese music

    1 of 1 2 of 1

The Sound of Dragon Music Festival aims to broaden the definition of Chinese music by bridging traditional repertoire with contemporary compositions, jazz, world, fusion, orchestral performance, and more.

With three ticketed concerts and four free events, the music festival was designed to represent Vancouver’s diversity through traditional Chinese music and cross-cultural collaborations with the local community.

Hear Khoomei throat singing, a technique used in shamanic ceremonies to reproduce nature sounds such as water flowing and animal calls; or get hands-on with a Chinese percussion workshop that will teach you the proper techniques of various instruments. There’s something for every type of music fan.
