Another storm expected to hit Metro Vancouver this weekend
Environment Canada is advising residents of B.C.'s south coast to brace themselves for the third in a series of October storms.
By late Saturday (October 15), heavy rain and some very strong winds of 60 to 100 kilometres per hour will hit Metro Vancouver.
The storm will rip across Vancouver Island in the early evening before arriving to B.C.'s most populated region later at night.
According to Environment Canada, thunderstorms are a possibility.
"This storm has drawn energy and moisture from the remnants of Typhoon Songda and is compact in size and convective in nature," a weather alert states. "Rainfall intensity and wind direction and speed will be changing rapidly as this system tracks through the region."
The Vancouver park board has announced that Stanley Park Halloween Ghost Train is remaining closed until 5 p.m. on Sunday (October 16) because of the weather.

On Friday (October 14), a 15-year-old male was killed by a falling tree at Clayton Heights secondary in Surrey.
The tree was blown down by heavy wind.
Not surprisingly, the storms have generated a great deal of attention on social media.
