Actor Christoph Waltz outlines the folly of giving a grace period to Donald Trump

These days, influential voices in the United States are suggesting that the public give Donald Trump a chance.

Among them are comedian Dave Chapelle on last night's episode of Saturday Night Live.

President Barack Obama also joined in the chorus, telling the American people that if Trump succeeds, the country succeeds.

But it's not a view endorsed by German-Austrian actor Christoph Waltz, who won an Oscar as the "Jew Hunter", SS-Standartenfuhrer Hans Landa, in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds.

He suggested that normalizing Trump essentially ignores everything that he's said in the past.

Waltz's comments on German TV (translated below) have gone viral in Europe.
