The titans of industry and finance, along with a bevy of politicians, are holding their annual get-together in the lavish Swiss resort of Davos.

But Vancouver isn't exactly a world away from their thoughts.

That's because an article on the World Economic Forum website includes our town on the list of the world's 10 most reputable cities.

Vancouver ranked ninth last year, which is a comedown from 2012, when it topped the charts. Take it as a sign that the Olympic lustre is wearing off.

Last year, B.C.'s biggest city fell behind Toronto (ranked fourth) and Montreal (ranked seventh).

So which of the world's cities was the most reputable last year?

According to CityRepTrak, which compiled the rankings, it was Sydney, Australia.

The silver went to Vienna and the bronze was handed to Zurich.

The ratings are based on tens of thousands of consumer ratings of cities' trust, esteem, admiration, and respect.
