Man murdered in South Vancouver

      Vancouver has recorded its third homicide of the year—and it's not even two weeks into the month of February.

      Vancouver police revealed today that the major crime section is investigating a murder in South Vancouver. Police found the injured victim early this morning after they were called to a home near the corner of Prince Albert Street and East 49th Avenue.

      He died after being rushed to hospital. The man's name hasn't been released. 

      Police stated in a news release that while no arrests have been made, they don't believe that the public is at risk.

      No other details have been provided.

      There were 11 murders in Vancouver in 2016 and 15 murders the previous year.

      February 14 update: Vancouver police have identified the third homicide victim of 2017 as 38-year-old Maninder Singh Braich.
