We've heard it before this winter.

But once again, the City of Vancouver is promising that it's ready to deal with the white stuff coming down from the skies.

In a news release issued this morning, it says that "major roadways" have already been treated with brine.

The city noted that flurries are expected to end by the early afternoon. But if the snowfall is heavy, it will accumulate on roads, but cars driving over the brine helps it melt.

The city also has equipment "out now" dealing with snow.

"All trucks have plow blades and engage them for 5 cm of snowfall," the city says. "We appreciate your patience as it will take time for plows to make it through each route and re-clear the roads.
